Global Payments to lease 3 top floors of Buckhead’s Three Alliance Center

Global Payments, which earlier announced it would be moving its headquarters to Buckhead from Sandy Springs, will lease the top three floors — or about 75,000 square feet — at the 30-story Three Alliance Center, according the building permits filed with the city of Atlanta and a story by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

That could make Global Payments the anchor tenant and potentially be eligible for signage rights on the 500,000-square-foot Buckhead trophy tower near Georgia 400, according to the ABC story.  Tishman Speyer’s Three Alliance is the city’s largest speculative office tower under construction.

Global Payments will create more than 275 jobs as it relocates its headquarters to Buckhead and expands its Sandy Springs office, the ABC reported in June.

The dual expansions would allow the payments processor to move to a higher-profile office submarket and closer to midtown Atlanta’s fintech cluster, while minimizing workforce disruption, according to the ABC.

Global Payments will invest $18 million in the Buckhead headquarters and bring 150 high-paying jobs — average annual compensation topping $200,000 — to the city. Meanwhile, the company will invest $16 million as it builds out 150,000 square feet of office space at its current headquarters at Glenlake Parkway, according to the Business Chronicle.
