American Cut, Regent Cocktail Club opening Friday at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta

The long-awaited American Cut restaurant and its companion rooftop Regent Cocktail Club is set to open Friday, Sept. 30, at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. The openings will mark the third and fourth venues of New York-based LDV Hospitality at the Buckhead mixed-use development.

American Cut and The Regent Cocktail Club follow LDV Hospitality’s earlier opening of Corso Coffee and Dolce Italian. They are located at the corner of Peachtree and Pharr roads at the southern end of The Shops Buckhead Atlanta.

LDV Principal John Meadows hosted a pre-opening party Thursday night, Sept. 29, for hundreds of Atlanta celebrants and the media, with cocktails and wine flowing from three bars on three levels, and food for a full meal served on the ground floor casual bar and eating area and the formal dining room on level two.

Asked about the decision to put off the opening of American Cut for so long, Meadows told BuckheadView, “If we had opened this restaurant two years ago it would have been a disaster,” because

there was not enough traffic at The Shops of Buckhead Atlanta then.

However, Meadows said his Corso Coffee and Dolce Italian restaurants have done really well and continue to do so.

Although the size of the corner location for American Cut and Regent Cocktail Club suggests  very large dining and bar areas, the design of the three floors actually is very intimate–even the main dinning room area. And, there are two private dining room areas that actually can be subdivided into three total for special occasions.  The formality of the waiter garb on the second floor dining room is replaced with very much more casual and skimpy in the third-floor Regent Cocktail Club.

American Cut was first announced in May 2014, but after missing its first deadline for opening, LDV Hospitality delayed the restaurant further.

Hours for American Cut are Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to midnight. Chef John Adamson is in charge of the kitchen.

The upstairs cocktail lounge, The Regent Cocktail Club, will be open from Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Friday and Saturday

from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
