Back on the Farm event at History Center Sept. 30 to benefit Smith Family Farm
Chaired by chef, stylist and photographer Angie Mosier, this year’s event will for the first time feature a team of 11 chefs led by Todd Richards, Executive Chef of White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails. Richards, who he is participating as a representative of the Brewed to Serve Restaurant Group, is the 2013 James Beard Awards semifinalist for Best Chef Southeast with an emphasis on farm-fresh foods.
Using crops and proteins that would have been common during the 1800s at the Smith Family Farm, Richards and his team will design a feast. Four of Atlanta’s best bartenders will mix specialty drinks during the cocktail hour, and the evening’s decor will be inspired by the native flowers and plants grown at the center.
The evening will also feature a live auction with items including two tickets to “Hamilton” on Broadway, a dinner experience at White Oak Pastures with James Beard Award winner Tandy Wilson, parties at the Smith Family Farm, surprises from Big Green Egg and more.
The featured chefs are Mark Brown of Blazin’ Jerk; Erika Council of Southern Souffle; Julio Delgado of JP Atlanta; Seth Freeman of Peach Dish; Jared Hall of One Flew South; Cooper Miller of Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall; Duane Nutter of Southern National in Mobile, Alabama; Mihoko Obunai of Nexto; Christian Perez of White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails; Matthew Raiford of The Farmer and The Larder in Brunswick; and Guy Wong of Ton Ton, Le Fat and Mizo Izakaya.
The featured bartenders are Tiffanie Barriere of Southern National, Greg Best of the Ticonderoga Club and Jerry Slater and Krista Lark Slater, both of Flying Pig Hospitality. The Spin Style Agency will provide décor for the evening.
Cocktails will take place at 6 pm on the Farm, and a seated dinner will be at 8 pm in the Grand Overlook. Tickets are $225. For more information, please contact Katherine Hoogerwerf at 404-814-4102.
