Memphis-based Storage Development Partners is under contract to buy two-thirds of an acre from Parkside Partners and its medical office building at 2061 Peachtree Road, home to Georgia Hand, Shoulder & Elbow medical offices.

Terms of the sale were undisclosed, but Parkside’s Kyle Jenks told Bisnow SDP plans to build a 125,000 square-foot Class-A storage facility right next to it’s the medical office building off Peachtree Valley and Peachtree roads (home of Buckhead Georgia Hand Shoulder & Elbow).

The site was originally slated for Phase 2 of Parkside’s medical office building. Those plans never fully materialized, and instead will now be home to the eight-story, climate-controlled storage facility.

“We have been approached by a variety of different users for the site, and a number of other self-storage development firms,” Jenks told Bisnow. “All believe that it is an excellent location for the product given the proximity to Buckhead and Midtown. Also, we like the fact that, architecturally, the building will look like a Class-A office building and will blend well with 2061 Peachtree.”

If the city of Atlanta gives the project a green light, the developers should break ground at the start of 2017.

    1. Eric Sprague says:

Being in the Beltline Overlay district, adjacent to the Beltline, won’t that be a factor in how this land is used?

    2. Will M says:

What a TERRIBLE location for this. A storage facility does not belong on the Beltline. This area has potential to be one of the most vibrant and walkable centers in Buckhead. This should be blocked immediately. A real shame and a real loss for Buckhead. “the building will look like a Class-A office building”, HA. Lipstick on a pig. Atlanta will never reach its potential with this kind of shortsighted, selfish, and greedy development going on in prominent locations.
