Sales of rare double lot, recognizable estate top Buckhead real estate deals
Both of the transactions took place within a week or so of each other.
According to property records, the Buckhead double lot at 336 Valley Road was sold in 2008 for $3.8 million by Nader and Soheila Rastegar to Jelco Alpha Investment Corp. It sits between Tuxedo Drive and Northside Drive and combines a 2.7-acre lot with a 2.1-acre lot.
“It is very unusual to find this much available land in Atlanta, let alone on one of its most desirable streets,” Listing Agent Debbie Sonenshine of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Sandy Springs office said in a statement.
“Valley Road is home to many of Atlanta’s most influential leaders and most picturesque mansions,” Sonenshine explained. “This is a prime opportunity for a buyer to create the home of their dreams in an idyllic location.”
According to the listing, Stan Dixon designed two homes for the property and Alec Michaelides Land Plus did site plans.
As for the recognizable estate, the 13,118-square-foot mansion sits on more than 3 acres and was designed by Bill Harrison. It has four bedrooms, six full baths, four half baths and features a spa, a home theater, a sauna, a gymnasium, a wine cellar, a massage room, a rec room and a golf simulator.
Outside it features manicured grounds with a heated pool, a whirlpool, a putting green, and a pool house with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace.
Just five years ago, the mansion at 1867 West Wesley Road was listed by Dorsey Alston LLC’s Diane Arnold for $12.5 million.
Ansley Atlanta Enterprises founder and CEO Bonneau Ansley III served as the listing agent. Ansley Atlanta Real Estate sold more than $170 million in homes in 2015 and it sold more than $425 million in homes in the last four years.
