Moores Mill center update: Edens proceeding, but road funds still not in hand
Moore said she met July 27 with Edens and city department representatives. “Edens is currently working on building the underground retention pond,” Moore wrote in a Facebook posting. “The building for the Publix will soon come out of the ground.” The Publix is still scheduled for a May 31, 2017 opening.
However, Moore indicated that the issue of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds for the Moores Mill Road project has not yet been fully resolved. She said the funds are approved, but…
“There have been some delays in the administration of the funds at FTA, but the Public Works department ensures that the process is underway,” Moore reported. “Public Works has completed a concept design, and the final design is expected in September.”
Moore reported that the plan includes a threeer-bus layover area.
“A meeting will be scheduled soon with Watershed Management regarding the utility markings and right away donation for a right turn only lane from Moores Mill onto Bolton Road (by the plant),” Moore wrote.
“Also, the Commissioner of Public Works will be meeting with Renew Atlanta officials regarding additional funds to build out the turn lane and provide for signal interconnection,” she added.
One final item, Moore reported that Edens is awaiting city permits to demolish houses facing Coronet Way. How unusual.
