‘State of Public Safety’ to be topic of Aug. 18 Buckhead Business Assoc. luncheon
“This is a timely topic of discussion, particularly given recent events across the United States and the globe,” said David Coxon, 2016 BBA president. “We live in uncertain times, and our public safety leaders are doing everything in their power to serve and protect the community.”
It also comes at a time when Buckhead residents have an uneasy sense that crime in their neighborhoods and throughout the community is on the rise and threatening their lifestyles at home, at work, shopping at local malls and boutiques and just walking in the community.
“This forum will no doubt be informative and insightful and gives us an opportunity to hear directly from those charged with keeping the community safe,” Coxson added. The luncheon will be held at the 103 West special events facility, 103 West Paces Ferry Road, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wilkinson, a special agent in charge of the U.S. Secret Service, will lead the discussion on the issues facing the public, law enforcement and the community.
During the event, the BBA will also bestow its annual Public Safety Awards to members of the Atlanta Police Department (Zone 2), Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.
Individual tickets for the luncheon event are $65 for BBA members and $75 for non-members. The ticket price includes three-course luncheon, program, tax and gratuity and valet service. Click here for registration
