Councilmembers urge public to take city financial transparency survey

Atlanta City Councilmembers Mary Norwood and Felicia Moore have launched a survey to determine the public’s interest in having Atlanta join cities across the nation to open its books to provide transparency to it’s governmental financials.

Pointing out that U.S. cities large and small are posting all of their expenditures on the Internet, where they are accessible to the public for review, city residents are being encouraged to provide feedback through an online survey.

Several members of the Atlanta City Council have proposed legislation to implement a similar system in Atlanta. This quick survey is intended to find out the support for this type of financial transparency in Atlanta. All responses are confidential.
