Saturday, May21.

This is not the first time the Coalition has undertaken a voluntary clean-up of these bridges (over the Southern Railway and Peachtree Creek) in south Buckhead.

It was a priority project for the nonprofit business groups because bridges are close to the Shepherd Center and a number of patients traverse this route in wheelchairs. Debris gets trapped along these passages because of city utility pipes above the rail and creek crossings.

Coalition Director Carol Tomé, CFO of Home Depot, made arrangements for the loan of all shovels, brushes, wheelbarrows plus other equipment, and Buckhead Movers provided a utility truck.

Garth Peters, Executive VP of the Coalition coordinated the operation, even taking credit for holding back the rain until the last load of trash was collected.
