AIS to host Horizons program for Garden Hills Elementary students

Beginning June 13, Atlanta International School will host the Horizons program for Garden Hills Elementary School students in kindergarten through second grade for a six-week program focused on STEAM, literacy, cultural enrichment, and confidence building activities like swimming, art, and sports.

In the U.S., lower income students often do not have access to enriching activities over the summer as their middle- to upper-income peers do. This causes a gap in learning called the summer gap, in which these students start the next school year academically behind their peers.

Horizons at Atlanta International School is a way for AIS to provide a service in support of the Garden Hills community.

If you would like more information about how to get involved, please take a look at AIS’ Horizons Video and  Giving Day Video. Also for more information, contact Chris Rhue (crhue@aischool.org) or Kelsey Stiakakis (kstiakakis@aischool.org).
