South City Kitchen Buckhead to open for dinner May 24, lunch May 25

South City Kitchen Buckhead is busy preparing to serve its first dinner to customers at 5 p.m. on May 24, followed by opening for lunch the following day, May 25.

The 6,000-square-foot restaurant is located on the ground-floor at 3350 Peachtree Road, known as the One Capital Plaza building, an office tower that also houses the headquarters of Pulte Group. It overlooks the sidewalk and Peachtree Road.

The Buckhead location will seat 220 people and will feature an all-season porch with fireplace, an outdoor fire pit, and a second story patio.

The restaurant is owned by Fifth Group Restaurants, which also owns Ecco, The Original El Taco, La Tavola Trattoria, Lure and Alma Cocina. It is the third South City Kitchen location (the original is in Midtown and there is a second location in Vinings).

Jason Starnes, formerly with the Sun Dial Restaurant, will serve as executive chef of South City Kitchen Buckhead. Signature dishes include she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes, buttermilk-fried chicken and shrimp and grits.
