LBI partner RentPath awarded Georgia Commute Honors prize

Livable Buckhead partner RentPath took home top honors at the Georgia Commute Honors event held April 26 at the Georgia Freight Depot for its program which was created to mitigate the impact of its relocation to Buckhead.

RentPath was named the best overall program for a medium-sized employer.Print

A digital media company with brands including Rent.com, ApartmentGuide.com and Rentals.com, RentPath partnered with Livable Buckhead to promote commute options when it moved its office to the Buckhead area in August.

A proactive education and outreach effort, as well as a transportation benefits program, enticed more than 20 percent of RentPath’s employees to use a commute alternative such as transit, vanpooling or teleworking.

With Livable Buckhead’s assistance, RentPath developed a transportation benefits program that pays employees a monthly stipend if they opt out of parking, and provides additional savings by allowing employees to pay for discounted monthly transit passes through pre-tax payroll deductions.

To identify potential carpooling and vanpooling opportunities, RentPath worked with Livable Buckhead to create a dot map, a visual representation of areas employees commute from. As a result, RentPath was able to launch a company-exclusive vanpool soon after the move to Buckhead, and additional employees joined an existing vanpool. RentPath also enhanced its telework program.

“Anytime a company relocates, it has an impact on employee commutes,” said Kelly Bergeron, Chief HR Officer of RentPath. “It was really important to RentPath that we identify and support a variety of commuting alternatives as part of our move.  Livable Buckhead was a tremendous partner in helping us put together a successful program.”

Georgia Commute Honors is an annual awards program recognizing the metro Atlanta’s best employer commute programs and clean commuters. This is the 4th time that a Livable Buckhead partner has been recognized.
