NAHS Stellar Seniors featured at final NAPPS meeting of school year

More than 25 “Stellar Seniors” were featured during the final NAPPS community meeting of the school year recently at North Atlanta High School—each student introducing themselves, where they are going to college, the study program they followed, what their major extra-curricular activities were, their favorite teachers and what advice they had for younger students and their parents.

Here are some college facts about the 2016 NAHS graduating class:

  • Over $4 million in merit-based financial aid awarded
  • 1 Gates Millennium Scholar
  • 1 Posse Foundation Scholar
  • 21% of the class of 2015 will be eligible for the Zell Miller Scholarship (full tuition at a public in-state college)
  • National Merit Scholarship: 5 Commended Students, 1 Semifinalist & 1 Finalist
  • Acceptances at 6 out of 8 Ivy League Universities: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania & Yale (plus Stanford and Georgetown)
  • Acceptances in both United States Air Force Academy & United States Naval Academy
  • 13 Admitted to Georgia Institute of Technology
  • 50 Admitted at University of Georgia
  • NCAA Athletic Commits for past 3 years include:  Baseball, Basketball, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis & Track.  Class of 2016 sports officially committed thus far:  Baseball (Truett-McConnell), Football (Kennesaw State & University of Waterloo), Soccer (Piedmont College, Vanderbilt & Wisconsin) & Lacrosse (Oglethorpe, Tennessee Wesleyan and Washington & Lee)
  • 383 Seniors
  • 17% of Graduating Class is of Hispanic Origin (Largest percentage in NAHS History)
  • 38% of NAHS Seniors taking AP or IB course load
  • 33 Dual Enrollment Students
