Well, find out how to become involved in the Shepherd Center’s annual Derby Day event—recreating the magic of Churchill Downs in Buckhead—on May 7 as two members of the Shepherd Center’s Junior Committee address the Buckhead Business Association Thursday May 5.

Derby Day, planned by Shepherd Center’s Junior Committee, attracts more than 1,000 people each year, as well as hundreds of sponsors. Last year’s Derby Days was held at the Chastain Horse Park, but this year’s location could not be confirmed since the public relations person for Shepherd Center did not return calls.
Shepherd Center’s Junior Committee is composed of over 200 young professionals who are between the ages of 25-34 years old. This group works from August until May planning the annual event. Members of this group are charged with promoting the event to their friends and family, as well as helping the committee secure sponsors and auction items.
Elizabeth Shortridge is an associate at Cushing, Morris, Armbruster & Montgomery, LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. Elizabeth provides broad corporate representation to companies and their owners. Her practice area is currently focused on commercial real estate and secured commercial lending.

Adam has been involved with the Shepherd Center Junior Committee since 2011 and currently serves as the Junior Committee Co-Chairman for the 2016 Derby Day event.
