Taverna Atlanta to replace Thirteen Pies at Shops Buckhead Atlanta

With hardly enough time having passed to clean the smudges on the glass and sweep the floor, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta and Lombardi Family Concepts Tuesday announced that Taverna Atlanta will open in October in the location just vacated Sunday night by Thirteen Pies restaurant.

“Taverna is a warm and inviting neighborhood restaurant” where, according to Lombardi Family Concepts website, “customers become friends and family. Here we celebrate the essence of

hospitality and farm-to-table cooking reflecting our authentic Italian flavors in our rustic and welcoming interiors.”

Taverna Atlanta will offer Northern Italian dishes ranging from simple comforts such as oven-fired pizzas and salads to fabulous risotto. The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner daily and brunch on both Saturdays and Sundays.

“Risotto is indeed our flagship dish,” the restaurant’s website states.  “Our broad offering includes truffle oil and Parmigiano risotto, bay scallops with homemade pesto and an inspired Vin Santo risotto with asparagus and prosciutto.”

“We are thrilled to open Taverna at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta,” Lombardi Family Concepts’ patriarch and leader Alberto Lombardi said. “Our first restaurant in Georgia will be a special place where customers feel at home.”

Lombardi Family Concepts is headquartered in Dallas, with additional restaurants in Las Vegas, Austin, Houston, Laguna Beach, and most recently, in Akumal, Mexico. For more information on Taverna, visit www.TavernaByLombardi.com.

The restaurant joins several other tenants opening in The Shops Buckhead Atlanta in 2016. Still to come this year are April – June: Groomed, Flywheel, Lindbergh, Savant Salon, Kit and Ace; July – September:  Dior, Joie, Attom, Venetian Nail Spa, and American Cut.
