Atlanta International School headmaster to address BBA meeting April 28

“Atlanta’s Global Presence and Importance as an International Hub” will be the topic of the address Thursday morning by Atlanta International School Headmaster Kevin Glass to the Buckhead Business Association’s 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting.

Glass has been headmaster of Atlanta International School since July 2009. He has a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Framingham State College, Massachusetts; a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Biology and Chemistry from Cambridge University, in the United Kingdom; and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Degree in Bacteriology and Virology from Manchester University, in the United Kingdom.

Glass’ career in education spans over 20 years and includes educational leadership and teaching positions in South and West Africa, Central and North America, and Central Asia.  Prior to joining Atlanta International School, Glass served as director of Tashkent International School in Uzbekistan for five years.

He is a board member of the Academy for International School Heads, the European Council of International Schools and the Center for the Advancement and Study of International Education.

Glass is a member of the International Baccalaureate Grant Committee, along with serving as an advisory board member for The International Educator and The Principals’ Training Center.

Glass is currently a board member for the Association for the Advancement of International Education, as well as the president-elect of this organization.

Glass is also a board member for the Buckhead Coalition, Board Member for the Rotary Club of Buckhead and Leadership Atlanta Graduate of the Class of 2010. Additionally, he serves on the executive committee of the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools.

He and his wife, Stefani (currently on parent leave from the German Foreign Service), have three children: Liam (grade 4), Lilly (grade 2) and Leanne (5K), who all attend AIS in the German track.

The BBA breakfast meetings are held at The City Club of Buckhead, on the 18th floor of he office tower at 3343 Peachtree Road. The cost to attend is $10 for BBA members who pre-register online and $12 at the door. The cost for visitors and guests is $20 and includes continental breakfast and validated self-parking.
