Two Lambert High School students, Sabrina Kien and June Lee, were named runners-up and will each receive a $500 scholarship.

The winner and runners-up were announced during birthday celebration festivities at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market April 16 and the new bags were distributed to shoppers at the market.  Shoppers will be able to pick up this year’s limited-edition reusable canvas bags at select events throughout the season.

“Sydney’s artwork beautifully depicts this year’s theme of ‘Our Farms, Your Tables.’ Her design is a reminder that locally sourced fresh fruits and vegetables are an American classic for any meal,” said Mike Taylor, COUNTRY Financial agency manager.

This is the fourth year COUNTRY Financial has sponsored the bag design contest.

“We love seeing familiar faces year after year at the Peachtree Road Farmers Markets.” commented Lauren Carey, manager of the Peachtree Road Farmers Market. “Shoppers and farmers alike are excited to show their market pride with the collectable bags. Our shoppers love to take the bags designed by the students when they travel to other states and even countries,” she added.
