Evening in the Garden fundraiser for Garden Hills school is April 16

The 27th Annual Evening in the Garden fundraising event for the Garden Hills Elementary School is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, at Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead’s Eve in Garden logoshowroom, 2799 Piedmont Road.

Evening in the Garden is a community-wide effort that impacts the lives of 485 children from diverse cultural backgrounds that attend Garden Hills Elementary.

GHES is an Atlanta Public Schools system International Baccalaureate (IB) school that serves the Buckhead neighborhoods of Garden Hills, Peachtree Park, Peachtree Heights, Lindridge Martin Manor and Buckhead Atlanta.

“The continued success of the school depends on the support of the surrounding community. Whether you have a direct tie to the school or live and work in the area, please join us for a fun-filled night that benefits the children at GHES,” said Hadley Laughlin, Acorns to Oaks Foundation president and Evening in the Garden Co-Chair.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and includes silent & live auctions, delicious food and entertainment,” Laughlin added. Last year’s event Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead raised over $80,000 and was attended by 230.

Evening in the Garden provides the majority of the funding for many essential programs at GHES—such as ongoing IB training for teachers, in-school High Touch High Tech science field trips, maintaining the Learning Gardens, implementation of the Orton-Gillingham approach to literacy instruction, the award winning fine arts programs as well as support for the new Spanish dual language immersion program.

As a public school, GHES receives taxpayer support from a district whose resources are already stretched. Therefore, the school needs additional support from the community in order to provide enriching educational opportunities for every child at the school.

“We are so grateful for the support of individuals and corporate sponsors who have already made contributions to GHES this year,” Laughlin said.

Corporate sponsors for this year’s event are: Accenture, Arby’s, Atlanta Center for Holistic & Integrative Medicine, Buckhead Cleaning & Janitorial Services, Buckhead Orthodontics, Janey Lowe/The Lowe Baumann Group, Salesforce, The Gym at Peachtree Presbyterian and Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead, which is hosting this event for the 4th straight year.
