History Center event tells all about Chicks in the City

Thinking of keeping chickens in your back yard? If so, head over to The Atlanta History Center on Saturday, March 26, for the Chicks in the City Symposium. The event, presented in partnership with The Wylde Center, will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Atlanta History Center will share information on their chicken husbandry. In addition, the day includes lectures and workshops for beginning and advanced chicken keepers. The sessions will address chicken health and wellness, poultry owner support, Avian influenza and biosecurity. There will also be a poultry-related exhibition, vendor offerings and a Virtual Coop Tour.

The day concludes with a drinks mixer with light hors d’oeuvres, silent auction, Easter egg hunt, and entertaining demonstrations by costumed Atlanta History Center staff and volunteers.

Admission to the Atlanta History Center is included with your full Symposium ticket.

Tickets to the full symposium are $50 for Atlanta History Center and Wylde Center members, and $65 for non-members.

Tickets to the mixer and silent auction at the Smith Tullie Family Farm are $20 for Atlanta History Center and Wylde Center members, and $30 for non-members.
