Piedmont Healthcare said planning S. Buckhead expansion
Just a year after Piedmont purchased the Sheffield site, Piedmont Healthcare CEO Patrick Battey reportedly has been meeting with leaders of nearby neighborhood associations, including Brookwood Hills, about the hospital’s intentions for a 78,000 square-foot, Bisnow reports.
Sources have told Bisnow that Piedmont officials, expressing a need for expansion, plan to raze the existing medical office building and build a multi-story facility on the site. Bisnow did not know the use of the new facility would be, but sources told Bisnow the overall project costs could reach $500 million.
Sources also told Bisnow that Piedmont has already selected Brasfield & Gorrie, a firm that has extensive hospital and healthcare project experience, including with a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta expansion. Bisnow said officials with Piedmont Healthcare declined to comment. (To read the Bisnow story, click here.)
