Buckhead polls open for early presidential primary, city tax voting

The city of Atlanta will hold a Special Election on Tuesday, March 1, in which registered resident voters will be presented with a question of whether or not to re-impose a special one percent sales and use tax, presently in effect, to fund water and sewer projects.

Those desiring to vote for the re-imposition of the sales and use tax should vote “YES” and voters desiring to vote against the re-imposition of the tax should vote “NO.”

Polls for the election, which will be held in conjunction with the Presidential Preference Primary Election, will be open on March 1 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at all designated precincts/polling places in the city of Atlanta.

The Fulton County Department of Registration will open 24 early voting locations to provide residents with more choices and convenience.

Early voting for the March 1 elections began Feb. 8 and runs through Feb. 26 at three locations in Buckhead: Chastain Park Recreation Center, 140W. Wieuca Rd., NW; Buckhead Library, 269 Buckhead Ave. NE; and Northside Library, 3295 Northside Parkway, NW

The early voting times are: Feb. 8– Feb. 19: 8:30 am – 6:00 pm; Feb. 22– Feb. 26, 2016: 7 am – 7 pm; Saturday voting Feb. 13 & 20: 8 am-5pm; Sunday voting Feb. 14 & 21: 12 noon – 5pm.
