Girl, 14, reportedly attacked, cell phone stolen at school bus stop
Neighbors in the area have sent emails, which were forwarded to BuckheadView, which claim that four persons working for the Nature Scapes landscaping company watched the assault from nearby but did not attempt to stop it and did not call 911.
One email report also claims that two nearby residents also saw the incident and did not respond to help the victim or apparently call 911.
According to the Atlanta Police Department preliminary report, the victim stated, “While on the sidewalk of 2475 Defoors Ferry Rd. at approximately 8:20 am she was approached by an unknown black male dressed in all black who got out of a silver Jeep occupied by three males that was parked at the intersection of Fernleaf Ct. NW. and Defoors Ferry Rd NW.
“The passenger exited the vehicle, approached her, snatched her phone from her hand and pushed her. The suspect then jumped back in the passenger seat and the vehicle drove north on Defoors Ferry Rd. towards Bolton Road.
“The victim identified the suspect as a black male, approximately 5’8” with dreads and a scruffy beard wearing an all-black sweat suit. The victim could not identify either of the other passengers,” The APD report said.
APD checked cameras in the area, but found no vehicles matching the description. Officers have been patrolling the area in search of the suspects’ vehicle, according to the APD report. The investigation is ongoing, according to APD Sgt. Warren Pickard.
