Madison Merritt was attempting to stop a car in front of her at the parking deck in the 2500 block of Piedmont Road when she began falling behind, a police report claims. Merritt stepped on the gas to keep up with the other car, but failed to negotiate a turn in the parking deck and ended up dangling halfway out of the fourth floor.
Steel cables meant to barricade the cars in the deck were the only thing preventing the car from falling into the alleyway below.

Police and fire crews responded to the unusual scene and several pictures and videos of the incident were posted to social media.

The police report claims Merritt was visibly drunk when she was pulled out of the car and could barely stand up. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and then booked into jail.
