The salon will operate as a traditional hair styling business serving children and families, while also serving as an incubator and training center to teach new training methods, research new hair products, work with new vendors, monitor trends, collect data and more.

The insights will benefit nearly 50 Pigtails & Crewcuts franchises across the country, says Wade Brannon, Pigtails & Crewcuts president and owner of the new salon. “Pigtails and Crewcuts got its start here in Atlanta, and now we have a chance to further the brand through this opportunity.”

Brannon explained, “By opening our own salon, we’ll be able to track data and deliver the latest education on what works in this industry. The more we grow, the more we need to educate ourselves on the struggles our franchise owners are going through every day.”

In the last year, the Pigtails & Crewcuts franchise has opened more than 10 new locations in the United States. The company’s Buckhead headquarters is located in Building 12 at Piedmont Center, 3495 Piedmont Road. The company was founded in 2004.

The Buckhead salon, which previously operated as a franchise location, closed at the end of October. It has undergone renovations, including its characteristic bright green, orange, red and blue walls, and chairs shaped like an airplane, police car and fire truck.

Theresa Underwood, Pigtails and Crewcuts’ director of franchise support, will also be working at the salon throughout the week.
