History Center’s Candlelight Night visits holidays past

The Atlanta History Center is celebrating the season Friday night (Dec. 18) with Candlelight Nights, a step back to Christmases past. The evening includes a candle-lit stroll through a wooded trail, where visitors will find festivities galore at the center’s three historic homes.

The homes will help visitors experience how Southerners celebrated Christmas during the pioneer days, the Civil War era, and the 1930s. Special activities include a Christmas Market, carolers, visits with Santa, a jug band, the Sacred Harp Singers, and more. Food is available for purchase and there will be several cash bars as well.

This special holiday program is $10 for members; $15 for nonmembers; $8 for children.

Funding for the program is provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners under the guidance of Fulton County Arts Council and Big John’s Christmas Trees.
