City Council unit is seeking public input on PARKAtlanta contract

The Transportation Committee of the Atlanta City Council is inviting the public to a series of town hall meetings, beginning Wednesday (Dec. 2), to hear in person and/or online regarding the on-street parking management contract currently held by PARKatlanta.

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., at Atlanta City Hall, Council Chamber, 55 Trinity Avenue, S.W. This meeting will be broadcast live on City Channel 26.

The meeting will also be streamed on the city of Atlanta’s website at www.atlantaga.gov (Click on the ATL City Channel icon in the middle of the webpage and click on the words: “Watch Channel 26 Live” located on the left of the screen.

The Reed Administration is considering issuing a request for proposals (RFP) for companies that want the city’s business in 2016 when Park Atlanta’s contract expires. The city could also take over the on-street parking management operation.

Citizens are encouraged to submit their questions and concerns in advance or during the first meeting and five days thereafter using various electronic modes:

A second community meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m., at Inman Middle School, 774 Virginia Avenue, N.E. The third and final meeting date, time and location have yet to be announced.
