NAPPS to show ‘Beyond Measure’ film on new education models

“Beyond Measure,” a film by the director of “Race to Nowhere” about new models of education, will be presented by the North Atlanta Parents for Public Schools (NAPPS) at a public showing on NAPPSWednesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. at the North Atlanta High School auditorium in Buckhead.

The showing of the film will be followed by a discussion period.

The film is a follow-up to director Vicki Abeles’ popular and controversial 2009 documentary “Race to Nowhere,” which criticized American schools’ focus on what it described as over-testing and over-scheduling of children. The companion book, “Beyond Measure”, was recently published.

The NAPPS screening of the film is open to area parents, students, educators and legislators. Admission is free, but seating is reserved. For more information, see
