Prime restaurant at Lenox Square trashed by thieves after it closed

Prime restaurant at Lenox Square mall was left a mess by thieves who ransacked the restaurant Oct. 9, stole equipment and spilled gallons of oil from fryers all over floors.

The restaurant is one of 10 restaurants suddenly closed just days before the incident by Here to Serve Restaurants.

Thieves stole kitchen equipment and a computer containing payroll information, the station reports. Security cameras at the restaurant had been disabled prior to the incident.

One executive with Here to Serve said he was certain it was someone (or several) who was very familiar with the restaurant who got in and did the damage.

On Oct. 5 and 6, Here to Serve abruptly closed its restaurants – which include Coast, Noche, Prime, Shucks, Smash, Strip, and Twist – catching workers by surprise. They had not yet received paychecks due Oct. 2. Paychecks have since been distributed.

Here to Serve CEO Leigh Catherall, said there are still about 100 checks at the company’s headquarters waiting for employees to pick them up.

The restaurant group’s owner said this week she is seeking investors, but that it is not financially feasible to reopen at this time.
