Aaron’s Inc. reportedly has buyer for Buckhead headquarters building

Aaron’s Inc. has an agreement to sell its 1960s-era 105,000-square-foot Buckhead headquarters to a joint venture of Knox Properties partnering with Redan Group and plans to convert the landmark building into a loft office project, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The purchase was confirmed by people familiar with the discussions, according to the ABC, and comes as Aaron’s is close to making a decision to relocate from the Buckhead Village to Cobb County. (For BuckheadView’s story about that, click here.)

Aaron’s has had its headquarters in this building at 309 East Paces Ferry Road for over 50 years, but said earlier this year it was putting the building on the market as the Buckhead real estate market is experiencing a resurgence in prices.

The joint venture has not closed on the transaction, but it has the building under contract, according to the ABC. A deal could come by the end of the year, the publication said.

Knox Properties is led by Hardman Knox, known for residential land development and management across the Southeast and as the former president of Rooster Media, a real estate publication.

Redan Group was launched by Cameron Golden, a former vice president of investments for Cousins Properties Inc. who worked closely with CEO Larry Gellerstedt.
