on Tuesday evening Oct. 6.

While the Public Safety Committee meetings, which start at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month, usually only draw the applicants for beer/wine and liquor licenses and members of the committee, the 7 p.m. full board meetings recently have been drawing larger attendance from residents. All NPU meetings are open to the public.

But according to NPU-B board chair Andrea Bennett, the decision to move the meetings to the Child Hall, which is likely 30 times larger than the normal meeting room at the church, was not requested by the NPU. It was a decision made by the church staff.

Bennett said she received notice that the meetings were being moved to the Child Hall “at least for the time being.” She does not know if it is a permanent move, but it is likely to be the new meeting spot for some time, she told BuckheadView.

Child Hall is the large room on the main floor, down the hall from the atrium. Bennett said there will be signage in the lobby to direct people to the new location. She also provided a map of the location of the new meeting room.

There are five license applicants on the Public Safety Committee agenda for Tuesday night’s 6 p.m. meeting and a fairly lengthy agenda for the 7 p.m. full board meeting, including the usual reports from various city departments, Atlanta Police Zone 2, MARTA police and the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.
