Dolce Italian restaurant officially opens at Buckhead Atlanta
Buckhead Atlanta at 5 p.m. this evening (Friday, Sept. 18).
Capturing the spirit of Fellini’s 1960’s Rome, Dolce Italian brings ‘la dolce vita’ to life, with its design by Chris Sheffield of SL Design and executive chef Paolo Dorigato’s fresh take on Italian classics such as handcrafted pastas, seafood risotto and Neapolitan style pizzas.
“Dolce is about socializing and indulging in the hospitable charm of the Italian dining culture,” says John Meadow, founder of LDV Hospitality. “Atlanta is a city built upon hospitality and amazing food, and we are thrilled to introduce a restaurant reflective of the city’s well-established dining scene.”
The official opening Friday evening follows a by-invitation preview Sept. 16, to which more than 600 Atanta residents confirmed their attendance.
The award-winning restaurant is the second of three LDV Hospitality concepts to open in Buckhead Atlanta, following Corso, which opened in December 2014. The third and largest, American Cut, is slated to open November 2015.
Dolce Italian will open daily at 5 p.m. and features a wrap-around outdoor terrace for al fresco dining overlooking the retail shops of Buckhead
Atlanta from its second-floor location. The restaurant plans to begin also serving lunch in coming weeks.
Inside, a 150-seat dining room with a curated collection of mid-century modern furniture in a bright space that creates a communal dining experience. The bar showcases an extensive wine list and specialty cocktails such as a Barrel-Aged White Negroni.
Under the leadership of local managing partner David Abes, Dorigato brings to Dolce’s Atlanta, Miami and Chicago locations a culinary history driven by his upbringing in Trentino, Italy, coupled with international experience at legendary restaurants including Le Cirque and Cipriani.
LDV Hospitality (La Dolce Vita, or ‘the good life’) is a premier restaurant group that owns and operates 24 food and beverage venues across the country. In 2012, Dolce Italian opened its first location in South Beach at the Gale Hotel.
Following Dolce Miami’s designation as Best New Restaurant, in 2015, Dolce then expanded to Chicago’s bustling River North in May 2015 at the boutique hotel, The Godfrey. LDV Hospitality is planning to bring the concept to New York City in 2017.
