Gourmet food and gift retailer Southern Season coming to Buckhead

Gourmet food and gift retailer Southern Season, of Chapel Hill, N.C., plans to open its first Atlanta location in Buckhead in the second quarter of 2016, a 25,000-square-foot retail shop at  Powers Ferry Square shopping center, according to a report by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The new store—the fifth for Southern Season in the Southeast—will include a full-service restaurant, cooking school, fresh flowers, bakery, deli and cheese departments, along with a large selection of gourmet food items and gifts.

“Buckhead is the ideal market for our customers,” Dave Herman, president of Southern Season, told the Business Chronicle. “We have a strong belief and heritage in gourmet food, food education and hospitality and a passion for the art of entertaining with food and wine as the focal point.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Andre Koleszar, senior vice president and regional officer for Regency Centers, which owns Powers Ferry Square.

“Southern Season has proven themselves to be a consistent top-tier operator in their industry, and that’s exactly the kind of merchant we like to support…especially for a center as trafficked and varied as Powers Ferry Square,” Koleszar told the Business Chronicle.
