Council of Neighborhoods renews monthly meeting schedule Aug. 13

After a two-month summer recess during June and July, the Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods will restart its monthly schedule of meetings on Thursday, Aug. 13, featuring updates on crime, the Moores Mill road extension project and progress on bond referendum projects.

The BCN meetings, which are held on the second Thursday of each month and are open to the public, begin at 6:45 p.m. and are held in room 2209 at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road.

Atlanta Police Zone 2 Commander Major Van Hobbs will provide those attending the meeting an update on crime incidents in the Buckhead neighborhoods over the summer months and arrests that have been made in home invasion incidents.

Dist. 9 Atlanta City Councilwoman Felicia Moore will update members of the neighborhood association on the ongoing negotiations involving the extension of Moores Mill Road at the western end of Buckhead that is a critical element in the long-awaited redevelopment of the Moores Mill Shopping Center property by the Edans Company of South Carolina.

The third announced agenda item for the meeting is an update on progress being made on those Renew Atlanta bond referendum projects both in Buckhead and across Atlanta.

One additional item sure to be discussed at the meeting will be the organization’s new webpage design, which can be viewed at www.BuckheadCouncil.org.
