Few tickets left for The Farmer Fund launch party, calendar debut Aug. 10
Lauren Carey, executive director of Peachtree Road Farmers Market, and Darla Synnestvedt, director of catering and events at Farm Burger, founded The Farmer Fund—an Atlanta nonprofit founded this year to serve Metro Atlanta farmers in the face of natural disaster.
The launch party for The Farmer Fund will be from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10th, at The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road NW. Tickets are $65 per person.
The event will also mark the debut of the Farmer Fund’s 2016 calendar, sporting photos of local chefs in nothing but Hedley & Bennett aprons with the farmers who grow their food. All guests will receive a free calendar to take home. It will be available for purchase after the event for $20.
There will also be an apron fashion show and live auction emceed by Chef Chris Hall featuring blow-up prints of calendar outtakes.
The event will take place indoors at the Cathedral, where the Peachtree Road Farmers Market is held each Saturday in the parking lot and will feature food and drink from Atlanta’s beloved chefs and breweries, plus live music and a live auction.
At the Peachtree Road Farmers Market Saturday, Carey told BuckheadView, “The response has been good and there have been a good number of tickets sold so far. But the event is not yet sold out and I would really like to see every ticket sold to this fun event,” she added. ” It is a great opportunity to meet local chefs and the local farmers who supply them and out farmers markets.”
The Farmer Fund helps local farmers get back on their feet after natural disasters, such as flooding or tornados, by providing grants through donations and fundraising.
