Georgia shoppers get sales tax break on items Friday & Saturday

Georgia shoppers can shop from one minute after midnight on Friday until Saturday at midnight without paying a sales tax on many items—just in time for many families to stock up on clothing and supplies before school starts.

Click here to view the lists of clothing items that are tax-exempt and items that are taxable, as well as lists of computer and school supply items that are tax exempt and taxable.

Clothing (including footwear) on the lists with a sales price of $100.00 or less per item are eligible. The exemption excludes clothing accessories such as jewelry, handbags, umbrellas, eyewear, watches, and watchbands.
