Fundraiser Aug. 10 to launch Farmer Fund to provide help in disasters
The event will take place indoors at the Cathedral, where the Peachtree Road Farmers Market is held each Saturday in the parking lot and will feature food and drink from Atlanta’s beloved chefs and breweries, plus live music and a live auction.
The Farmer Fund helps local farmers get back on their feet after natural disasters, such as flooding or tornados, by providing grants through donations and fundraising.
Darla Synnestvedt (Director of Catering and Events at Farm Burger), and Lauren Carey (Executive Director of Peachtree Road Farmers Market) founded the nonprofit to serve the farmers who feed Atlanta’s families.
Beginning at 6pm, festivities will include local food and beer, courtesy of Atlanta chefs and breweries, a chance to meet and mingle with local farmers, and live music by The Darnell Boys. The organization will reveal The Farmer Fund 2016 Calendar at the event and all guests will receive a free copy to take home. It will be available for purchase after the event for $20.
There will also be an apron fashion show and live auction emceed by Chef Chris Hall featuring blow-up prints of calendar outtakes.
At the event, guests will enjoy food from the chefs of 12 great restaurants and beer from 12 local breweries.
