Buckhead street performer Baton Bob revealed in WABE interview

Many Buckhead residents and visitors have seen the colorful, costume-clad street performer known as “Baton Bob” on Peachtree or West Paces Ferry roads, blowing his whistle and twirling his baton. But most who observe him don’t know he lives in Buckhead too.

People likely also don’t know that the 63-year-old character Baton Bob, who’s real name is Bob Jamerson, was born out of a tragedy and debuted in St. Louis, just after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, reports WABE.

Jamerson was furloughed from his job as a flight attendant and was looking for something to cheer himself up, he told the station in an exclusive WABE interview.
