Buckhead losing Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame to Marietta

Buckhead’s Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, home of the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association, is about to lose the Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame to Marietta, according to a report by the Marietta Daily Journal.

The facility, which will be renamed The Sessions Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum, will include a museum with interactive kiosks and videos, according to the Marietta newspaper. The center is scheduled to open May 2 at 116 Marble Mill Road, Marietta.

The Hall of Fame, which currently is located in 300 square feet at the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, will be housed in 1,300 square feet of space.

The Georgia Tennis Foundation, which will operate the Marietta facility, last year donated $40,000 in scholarships and grants to tennis players and more than 80,000 children have attended the organization’s tennis camps over the past 10 years, according to the MDJ.
