Public meeting reset for March 4 on Village roads restriping
The city of Atlanta and Buckhead Community Improvement District (CID) are encouraging all interested Buckhead stakeholders to attend in order to review and discuss the plans for Pharr Road and East and West Paces Ferry roads.
Last year, the Buckhead Community Improvement District hired consultants to develop a plan to redesign and reconstruct traffic lanes on West Paces Ferry Road between Peachtree Road and East Andrews, following a plethora of complaints from residents, businesses and motorists.
The CID’s revised roadway concept would restore West Paces Ferry to two lanes in each direction, with a center left-turn lane, a single bike lane and a mid-block signaled crossing. The westbound bike lane would be removed and replaced with a shared lane.
Also last year, the city of Atlanta asked the Buckhead CID to suggest how to restripe East Paces Ferry Road and Pharr Road between Peachtree and Piedmont.
Representatives of the city of Atlanta and the BCID will be on hand to discuss the road striping at the meeting. Construction will begin after the plan is accepted by the city of Atlanta, which will be required to pass legislation allowing the mid-block pedestrian crossing on West Paces Ferry Road in front of Whole Foods.
