Garden Hills Gala raises $60,000 to pay off new Pool House
The event, which was held from 7-11 p.m. at the Atlanta International School, featured food from 10 local restaurants, live music and silent and live auction items that spanned the world.
The $50 per person admission cost, plus the money attendees paid with their bids on the auction items—including a vacation at Castel Rinaldi, the Umbria, Italy; a two-night stay at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC., week-long stays at a beachfront condo in Pensacola or a large home at Callaway Gardens, along with tables full of silent auction items— and sponsorships accounted for the $60,000-plus in revenues.
Billed as “A Taste of Garden Hills,” the food was provided by Anis Bistro, Eclipse di Luna, Seven Lamps, Fado Irish Pub, Del Frisco’s Grille, Blue Moon Pizza, Seasons 52, Copper Cove Indian Bistro, Maki Fresh, Tin Lizzy’s Cantina and Billy Williamson Catering.
Prior to the event, Jeff Clark, a member of the Garden Hills Civic Association who headed up the pool house renovation, told BuckheadView, “If it is successful, we should have the pool house completely paid off by mid-November.” The total cost of the project, which was completed earlier this year in time for the swim season, was $890,000.
“With an expected 350 or more attending the gala and about 20 sponsors for the event, we feel excited about the momentum created,” Clark added. It paid off.
