Sponsor one of Livable Buckhead’s goats to help clear trail for PATH400
They won’t be wearing hard hats or yellow or orange construction vests, but Livable Buckhead is calling in a crew of 27 goats who will put their voracious appetites to work clearing vines from the half-mile stretch of
PATH400 that is under construction in Buckhead.
The goats, provided by Get Your Goat Rentals, will begin their month-long work in late August, accompanied by Sweet Pea, a Great Pyrenees who serves as their personal security guard.
Buckhead residents and businesses are being encouraged by Livable Buckhead to join the fun and support PATH400 by sponsoring a goat or two.
“Goats are inherently amusing and playful, so we thought this would be a great opportunity to get the community involved with PATH400,” said Denise Starling, executive director of Livable Buckhead. “And the goats are also the most environmentally responsible to clear the land – no exhaust-producing machinery required.”
Livable Buckhead’s website features a photo gallery of the entire goat crew, including personal bios to give sponsors insight into the personalities of Blossom, Freckles, Fred Astaire, Darth Vader, Elsa and the rest of their kudzu-eating co-workers.
Sponsors can select their favorite goat (or goats), and will get the opportunity to meet their goat during a special event when the project is complete in late September. Sponsors will also receive periodic “goat gram” updates from Sweet Pea, who will share her behind-the-scenes view of the crew’s progress on site.
The cost to sponsor a goat is $100 with proceeds benefiting PATH400 construction. Donations are tax-deductible.

PATH400 is a planned 5.2 mile multi-purpose trail that will stretch primarily along the GA400 right-of-way from Loridans Drive in north Buckhead to I-85 in south Buckhead and will connect with the BeltLine trail at that point.
PATH400 is a joint effort of Livable Buckhead, The PATH Foundation, the Buckhead Community Improvement District, Georgia Department of Transportation and the city of Atlanta.
